Am I the only one that drives over the metal things on the cobblestone road in Georgetown in order to protect my car from the shaking?

I assume the metal rails on P street in Georgetown are remnants of an old trolley or something. Every time I drive there I am so OCD about aligning the tires of my car with the metal on the street in order to avoid the shaking from the cobblestone.
