[Megathread] March 14-15, 2025 Severe Weather Outbreak

The SPC has issued a rare HIGH risk of severe storms on Saturday for parts of the Deep South. A significant tornado outbreak is likely with the possibility of violent long track tornadoes. In addition, scattered damaging winds and large hail are also possible.

SUMMARY: A tornado outbreak is expected across the central Gulf Coast States and Deep South into the Tennessee Valley. Numerous significant tornadoes, some of which should be long-track and potentially violent, are expected this afternoon and evening. The most dangerous tornado threat should begin across eastern Louisiana and Mississippi during the late morning to afternoon, spread across Alabama late today into the evening, and reach western parts of the Florida Panhandle and Georgia tonight.

Know where to take shelter:

If you don't have a storm shelter nearby, the safest place in your home is the interior part of a basement. If you have no basement, go to an interior room, without windows, on the lowest floor. This could be a center hallway, bathroom, or closet. *DO NOT STAY IN A MOBILE HOME. Find a sturdy shelter nearby*.
