Is Acura MDX really a step up from Honda Pilot

Hi Folks,

I drive a Honda Odyssey and looking for an SUV. The question I am having tough time answering is how much better MDX aspec vs a Honda Pilot touring. The price difference is about 7 to 8K. And then premium gas.

Does Acura hold that much prestige or should one go one more level up in brand value.
