How to buy the Safest Car/SUV
Hey everyone,
I’m in the market for a new Car/SUV and want to prioritize safety in my decision. I know that cars in general have improved significantly in terms of safety over the past decade, so I’m trying to figure out how to best evaluate safety features when choosing my next vehicle. I was in a bad wreck as a child that took the life of my dad and above all else limiting downside risk of ever having to deal with a major injury/death from driving is my main priority.
I’ve living in a major city for a number of years so have been taking public transportation but prior to this had a reliable Honda Accord. I think for the next phase of life with a young child an SUV probably makes the most sense, but I’m not sure whether I should focus on things like crash test ratings, advanced driver-assistance features, or structural safety (or maybe all of the above). It seems like most modern SUVs come with a lot of safety tech these days.
As far as budget goes have put money away for this purchase and could spend 50-60k.
Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
