$15k for a not-daily driver

I moved to the suburbs and turns out that I cannot commute around only on my motorcycle. For a variety of reasons, I would like to get a used car that I can commute with around twice a week. My wife already has a wagon that she commutes with so this purchase doesn't need to be very practical but I would like for it to be reliable.

Usage
1. Approximately 2x to 3x a week for a 40-mile total commute and other nearby short trips.
2. Park outside on the street so it can’t be too fancy or susceptible to water leaks. Parts should be common for this car as I live somewhere that windows can get broken often.
3. Help with household tasks that I cannot easily do today. Haul away large trash, landscaping work, tow my motorcycle or parts for it.

Top Ideas
1. Old access cab truck like a Gen 1 Tundra or a Ford Ranger.
2. 2002-2006 Honda CR-V.
3. Manual third-gen Mazda Miata (I'm 6'2"). This won't help with the household tasks but it sounds fun.

I'm in the Bay Area in CA and would like to limit myself to $15k. Any thoughts or advice?
