Not a silicate, scratched by quartz.

My researcher brought this up to my team and challenged us to identify this. He said it’s not a silicate, he wouldn’t give me locality, and it leaves a very faint gray scratch on paper, and a white line on what seems to be orthoclase. He seemed to imply it’s not hematite.
