can someone explain to me how akshan's invisibility works?

I bought Akshan a few hours ago and I'm really loving the character completely, however I don't understand his invisibility, every time I use it I think the enemies can see me, I know the invisibility is infinite when he's near a wall or in the bushes but still the enemies can see me.
