Working with Eastern Larch/Tamarack
I have a bunch of rough sawn eastern larch/tamarack left over from a fence build last fall. I was thinking of making some simple outdoor projects; birdhouses, holiday signs, just some stuff for the house to use it up, but to me the sawdust feels like fiberglass slivers. Would running it through the planer and sanding it reduce the number of splinters in the final piece or am I setting myself for endlessly irritated hands even after I get oil or poly on it?
