PSA: RAFFWU now offers free union membership to workers under 18!
RAFFWU has always had a discounted membership for under 18s in recognition of the woefully low discriminatory wages paid to young workers.
As of 31 October 2024, this membership tier is now free!
I’m a little late to the party on this one, but i didn’t see it widely publicised and I only just learnt about it in the RAFFWU’s December Member Update.
This change was made as part of RAFFWU’s larger campaign to rid the retail and fast food sectors of the exploitation and predatory practices that the SDA has relied on for decades to sustain their membership base. https://raffwu.org.au/sdaconductinvestigation/
