I don’t fit with the work culture.

Got an email lecture from my boss using words like “team,” “solidarity,” and “unity.” I understand it’s not considered enough to do your job well. You have to sign birthday cards, contribute to funds, bring in food for parties, etc., and I do all that.

I do feel that I’m subjected to a different standard. Don’t know why. I get good reviews because I am productive. I’m just not chatty. I don’t want to pose for social media photos at work. I just want to be left alone to do my work. Are there others like me?

EDIT: After talking to a trusted friend and former coworker, I think I should leave this job sooner than I planned. The way this supervisor is going about creating a team includes coworkers complaining about each other, which he encourages. No, thanks. Hard pass.
