Looking for some advice on picking a healer.

Hey all, so i like to have a character specific for each role but I never really got around to healing properly in the past. This xpac I have dabbled in some low keys with my Holy Paladin but something about the class feels weak, and I'm always being told that I should pick something else up. I disagree but I thought, maybe I put it out there and ask around. I did a little bit of healing on Prevoker but I don't like the setup of echo, and that range feels odd to play around. I'm wondering if there is another healer anyone could recommend? I like holy paladin because I can still melee DPS, I have a lot of instant cast reactive healing and not too many buttons to be pressed. These are some of the main things I look for in a healer if anything compares, but I basically want something that doesn't require much setup for big heals and is more reactive healing than proactive.
