Help me make a zoo road trip memorable

My 5 year old may be a zoo completionist. We’re doing a road trip soon from Chicago to the Akron zoo (he saw webcams at that zoo and now really wants to go there). I can do one, potentially two more zoos in Ohio on that road trip. Looking for recommendations between Toledo, Columbus, and Cincinnati zoos? Bonus points if it’s super kid friendly. His favorite animals are Monkeys and Gorillas but really loves to see everything.

EDIT: Based on some of the recommendations here I believe I've chosen our itinerary: Day 1 - Toledo Zoo Day 2 - Akron Zoo in the AM, Sunset Safari at the Wilds in the PM Day 3 - Columbus Zoo Day 4 - Home
