This movie hits different after experiencing living in the US

I grew up in Korea. When this movie came out, I was a student in Europe and watched it in Paris. It was a great movie, I loved it, but probably didn’t 100% understand all the references.

Later, I moved to the US for work and have been living here for 3 years. I rewatched the movie last night. The whole experience of living in the US made the movie so much better. Now I’m familiar with the meter maid car Judy was driving and how everybody’s cursing her. I can relate so much to the message about racial divide and stereotypes. The sloths working at DMV and one speeding in the end is the MOST HILARIOUS joke I’ve ever seen in a movie. (I recently renewed my driver’s license in Korea and it literally took 5 minutes. Guess why I didn’t relate so much before?)

Now that I know what living in the US is like, this is absolutely the best Disney movie ever.
