As much as we all here hate Axol having been killed off, there IS a kind of poetry to it. I mean, think about it: Desti's death in the 'Anime' arc was because of Francis getting ahold of Inkweaver. If Axol DIDN'T get involved in the story, this wouldn't have happened. Just some food for thought.
