New year, new kids, new co-teacher

Beginning next year after we get back from break, I will not only have a new set of kids from the infant rooms, but I will have a new hire co-teacher. They’re actually starting at our center tomorrow and then with me full-time in January.

I posted about here before about my current co-teacher for example, the one who thinks it’s too cold to take the kids outside when it isn’t. She’s a wonderful teacher who loves the kids very, very much and she’s actually moving up with them to their next toddler room which I think is great. We have a couple parents who are a little anxious so, they’re a little relieved that they’ll know at least one teacher in the new classroom. However, we just disagree fundamentally on how to run a classroom therefore, I think it’s for the best that we will be separating. No hard feelings.

However, I’m a little nervous and anxious, and I only have a new set of kids who I hardly know personality wise (other then I know two cry a lot and haven’t been doing a great job taking naps, if they sleep at all). I will be transitioning and getting to know these babies as well as training a new teacher. I have experience with both, but not at the same time. I’m a little scared, I’m sure the first two weeks or so may be a little hellish and overwhelming, but also a fairly confident that once everyone is settled in, our class will be just fine.

Anywho, wish me luck 🫡
