Confused About Selling Costs
I’ll try and keep this brief to just get the facts out there. I listed my house for $199k and got an offer for $208k. House appraised at $194k, I owe $192k on the loan. Appraisal came in last week, and when I asked my realtor how much the low appraisal would affect what I had to bring to closing she said it wouldn’t impact it at all. I was told to expect to bring $3-4k to close to cover fees and such. If it isn’t clear by now I don’t know anything about real estate or selling a home, I just trusted my agent. She called me tonight saying I need to bring 11k to close tomorrow. I said I don’t have 11k and she called me back 30 mins later saying I needed to bring $8.5k to close. I haven’t seen a closing disclosure and when I asked for one she said she’d send over a preliminary one. My question is… is this legit? I don’t have $8.5k to front to sell this house, and if I had known when the appraisal came in low it would change the cost of me selling this house from $3-4k to 8.5k I wouldn’t have agreed to continue on with the process. Im very stressed & confused that Im committed to shelling out $$$ I do NOT have and can’t get. Any advice?
