Las Lomas has been great for my boys. From my somewhat limited perspective it seems the kids there are less clique centered, less materialistic and more supportive as well as a bit more diverse. The slightly lower academic ratings are because of the draw from more apartments and are actually an advantage for UC schools because you'll want to have a higher in-school ranking.
