This isn’t rocket science. The days of the Kennedy Democrat party are long gone. The modern progressive left bares little to no resemblance to former Blue Dog Democrat party, which held some limited appeal as long as it protected WV industry.

Maybe. Kinda my beef with the whole two party thing. People seem to believe that the left has a monopoly on being pro-diversity, pro- reproductive rights, and pro-social safety net, and the right has a monopoly on 2A, and free speech (I don't think that was the case until recently).

I agree, but in the end we have two shit options and you must pick a side. So WV voters have taken a look at the two shit options and picked the side they most closely align with. That’s all. No reason for this sub to so negatively portray the majority of the state’s voters. All they are doing is taking what they see and making a decision. I wish more people would see it that way.

Sure, I really do think the elevation of other issues above labor, specifically resource extraction, was a really big hit for the blue turd uption, giving an insane upper hand to the red turd option. I'm done with the Red/Blue political binary myself, I reckon the only way it changes is to be unabashed in my refusal to participate in it 🤷‍♂️ But I respect other people's choices. So long as it isn't born from a place of ignorance, do what feels right to you at the end of the day.
