NTA- but maybe do your bio moms dance first, separate it by the daddy daughter, then do the step mom? Just to give bio mom a little time and to know she is “first”. Before the hate comes at me, just try to be kind. Your bio mom is likely feeling deep down that you are just throwing her away, she even stated it, you aren’t but it still hurts. It is your wedding, you can stage dances with whomever you want, just be kind in this respect.

My bio mom's dance will be first. I didnt think this would be so contentious, Ive been to a few weddings where people did dual dances with bio and step family. I'm going to reach out to those friends to see if that caused a lot of drama for them but they never told me anything about it doing so. They were heartwarming moments to witness and I wanted to do the same thing because both of them are mothers to me. Alice never felt like less of a mother to me because were not blood related.

Please do talk to those friends, I think you'll find that in those situations all of the parents got along. I can name plenty of friends and family who are in multi - parent situations where this wouldn't be an issue because of their circumstances. I can also think of some where there would be some seriously hurt feelings due to how the relationship ended and/or how co-parenting has gone.

I actually have talked to some of them in the last few hours after this post blew up. They told me that at first their bio parents didnt love the idea but eventually they came around to it after they realized how much the moment meant to them. Yes, some of these started as "the other woman/man". I hope my bio mom can come around to it as well.
